BPS: What do we need to know about you?
LMC: I started digital scrapbooking in February 2005 and have been hooked ever since. Before that, I was an avid knitter in my spare time
but for now the yarn is safely tucked away so that I have more room for my camera, lenses, computer, magazines, idea books, paints, and all the paper scrapbooking supplies that I've managed to accumulate! I am a perpetual student and am always trying to learn new things and improve upon my existing knowledge (this year I hope to learn to play guitar and to create my own soldered jewelry, quite different I know, yet on my to-do list all the same). I am magazine-obsessed. I am a foodie (love to eat and love to cook)! I get excited about organization. I am enamored with texture, pattern, and color. Lately, I love damasks in terms of patterns and my two favorite color combos right now are blues and browns together and also lime green and aqua.
BPS: What do you like about your friends?
LMC: They are friendly and kind. They inspire me, support me, and help to keep me sane. And, of course, they are FUN!
BPS: Where do you hope to go?
LMC: I would love to visit Napa Valley, San Francisco, Seattle, North Carolina's Outer Banks, Vermont and I would love to go back to coastal Maine and Italy's Tuscan hill towns. But for now, I'm REALLY happy right where I am!
BPS: What do you need everyday?
LMC: Hugs and kisses from my family, some time spend outside, a good workout, lots of water, comfy shoes, my camera, time to make art, a good book or magazine to read right before bed!
BPS: What's your favorite line?
LMC: Besides Everyday Tango that I created for My Mind's Eye? Just kidding! There's no way I could pick just one line. I love Bohemia and Signature Suite from My Mind's Eye, Urban Couture and Lily Kate from Basic Grey, Chatterbox, stickers and stamps from 7 Gypsies, Wildheart and Clare De Lune from Fancy Pants, Cosmo Cricket's Wanted line. My favorite digital design shoppes are Jen Wilson Designs, ScrapArtist, and 2Peas. For fabrics
anything from Amy Butler. She ROCKS! And I can't wait to see her paper line with K&Co.
BPS: Where do you wish you could shop?
LMC: Since my kids are very young and quite high-energy, going into any store is a bit challenging, so I try to shop online whenever possible. But I wish I lived closer to Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Apple (with unlimited budget - hello iMacG5 and MacBook Pro!!), Barnes and Noble, Archivers (that store looks so cool in all the magazine ads!), and all the amazing local scrapbook and stamping stores that I see on some of my favorite blogs. I love fabric and art supply stores too.
BPS: What do you believe in?
LMC: I believe in celebrating the everyday. I believe that living an authentic life is the only way to live. I believe that we are all artists. I believe that there is always room for improvement. I believe that making connections with people is what life is all about. I believe that everything happens for a reason.
BPS: If you could take only one thing before you left the planet, what would you take?
LMC: My camera!
BPS: Why do you like teaching at Big Picture Scrapbooking?
LMC: I love being able to share my passions with such a wonderful community and that I get to inspire others to create works of ART! The students are motivated and creative and the instructors are amazingly supportive and wonderful. Everyone here just gets what life is about. It's all the little everyday things that when combined make up our "big picture." This is SO BIG! Can we all gather for one big group hug for a moment? {{{hug}}} Okay, thank you. I feel much better now!
