Hi, I'm Stacy Julian. I started scrapbooking in 1994. My happiest color is yellow! I love to teach because I always learn so much.

I've been thinking about pictures...
I'm pretty sure I have way too many. I remember my mother taking her old Kodak 110 film in to get it developed and showing me snapshots from the first day of school, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas - all taken with one 12-exposure roll of film. I've decided that having more pictures doesn't necessarily mean you have more memories - or even more detailed memories. It just means you have more pictures.

I've been thinking about style...
I like to break particular styles down into component parts - I ask myself, what products and techniques are inherent in a particular style - and then I play with those elements and applications and come up with my own interpretation - I think playing with style is fun, but when it comes to personal style - I want to keep myself guessing!

I've been thinking about simplicity...
I think its human nature to make things more difficult than they really are. Things don't have to be so hard. When I'm overwhelmed or unsure about how to approach a task, I've learned to step back and ask myself what it is I'm really trying to accomplish - my honest answer to this question is almost always simple. With that in mind, I move forward.

I've been thinking about scrapbooking...
Scrapbooking makes me happy! Not just the "put-the-pictures-on-the-page" part of scrapbooking, but all of the living that comes first -- the people, places and things that I experience that become a part of my scrapbook story -- I love that life is an endless source of "raw data" to be sifted, sorted, savored and shared.
