Scrapbooking
in Season
May
Flaum uses her scrapbooks to chronicle seasonal
changes, and her focus on seasons allows
her to notice and capture moments both large
and small. Every August, apples start showing
up good and ripe, in January the family
goes through more hot tea than any other
month, and March is a favorite month to
visit Disneyland. These are just a few of
the details in one person's calendar. Look
through any family scrapbook and you will
find a treasure trove of special events
and holidays. Every year not only do we
enjoy various events, but there are also
countless little details about each month
and season that are special and deserve
to be preserved in a scrapbook.
Instructor
May Flaum is a veteran Big Picture teacher
and long time crafter. May is author of
Paper + Pixels: Scrapbook Layouts,
has been published in numerous idea books
and magazines, and truly loves scrapbooking
the details of life. In this fun eight week
workshop, she will take you on a trip through
the calendar year, sharing layouts, sketches,
and countless ideas for preserving unique
details all year long.
Major
holidays and birthdays will be covered,
of course, as well as ideas for scrapbooking
the precious details of each season (view
the syllabus for details). In addition
to a handout for each month of the year,
you will also receive two bonus handouts
that cover ideas for getting more photos
on your seasonal layouts and getting the
best journaling and stories possible.
Not
only will May provide a total of 14 handouts,
but she will also host two weekend socials
(on-line crops) where you can chat, interact,
take part in challenges and contests, and
enter to win even more prizes. This class
is action packed and full of big scrapbook
fun to kick off 2009!
